About

The Fish Dock is located on the Sapelo River in the Belleville community of McIntosh county. Prior to becoming The Fish Dock, the restaurant enjoyed many years as Pelican Point where it was known for its extensive seafood and prime rib buffet. Charlie Phillips, the new owner, is enhancing the current menu with more fresh seafood choices. If this corner of the river could talk, you would hear tales of the dance hall at Sandpiper Inn, of the fabulous deviled crab served at Rosco's Place, and of loyal patrons of Pelican's Point's famous buffet.

In the 40's, not satisfied with the small creek bordering Rosco's Place, the owner was reputed to have used dynamite to enlarge the creek. The result, Rosco's cut, now a canal, serves as the home to Phillips Seafood, Sapelo Sea Farms, and several other docks providing fresh seafood for the tables of The Fish Dock. In 1986, Mike Phillips opened Pelican Point restaurant at the corner of Sapelo River and Rosco's Cut. After fishing and shrimping the local water for nearly 20 years, Mike turned over the operation of the boats and seafood docks to his son Charlie and began serving fresh seafood to crowds from Jacksonville to Savannah and beyond.

In 2015, Charlie bought Pelican Point from his dad, and changed the name to "The Fish Dock Bar & Grill" to reflect the goal of serving the best and highest quality fresh seafood right from his docks. Having access to the best that Phillips Seafood has to offer, Charlie hand picks snapper, grouper, and sea bass from his own boats for the restaurant. With fresh fish, daily-harvested littleneck clams from his clam farm, Sapelo Sea Farms, and local oysters in season, your biggest challenge will be to decide which to try first!
