Marketing & Communications Admin Assistant

Job Purpose:

Performs administrative services and coordinates programs for the Marketing, Communications, & Economic Development Department.


Duties

Provide administrative support to the department to include routine correspondence and event scheduling. Additionally, be able to do basic 

graphic design for signs, digital screens, printed materials, email newsletters, and banners

Create and edit photography/videography for social media content like reels, videos, YouTube shorts, stories, graphics, and ad design.

Expected to have a working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, Illustrator, and InDesign.

Assists in the planning and production of the Coop’s Annual Meeting of Members

Assist in preparing “Customer Choice” proposals for new industrial accounts.

Maintain reservation calendars for the company auditorium, board room, and conference room. Coordinate meeting and catering setup.

Assist in coordinating the Coastal Electric Cooperative Foundation’s scholarship programs, the Walter Harrison Scholarship, the Washington 

Youth Tour, and the Bright Ideas classroom grants program.

      Coordinates ordering office supplies for the department

.

Coordinates participation in chamber of commerce events such as Business After Hours and golf tournaments. Assist the communications staff 

in preparing for Earth Day, school career days, and other community festivals.

All other job-related duties as assigned by management.


Skills/Qualifications:

High school diploma or state equivalency certificate required. Associate’s degree (A.A.) from an accredited college or technical school is highly desirable. Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years administrative and/or communications experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common marketing and industry-related materials. Must be able to present information to senior staff or public groups effectively. Must have excellent organizational and time management skills. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to create executive-level correspondence. Ability to utilize office automation technology, such as a calculator and personal computer (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Suite, Google Docs, and Gmail). Ability to handle confidential information and ability to work flexible hours or workweek during special events or projects. Ability to travel overnight to various job-related seminars, conferences, and/or industry meetings. Must have and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license with a clean driving record, as use of company vehicles may be required in this job.


Work Environment:

The majority of duties of this job are performed indoors. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
